John joined the commission as an asphalt inspector, but because of his training as an equipment technician he was able to replace the shop foreman when he retired. As equipment maintenance foreman, he leads the team of technicians that service and repair the commission’s fleet of more than 150 pieces of equipment, trucks, and passenger vehicles. He also assists in the management of equipment with the help of director of operations and company manager. When a piece of equipment comes into the repair facility, its remaining years of service is evaluated and compared to what was originally anticipated.
