Carter started his excavation business in 2018 by buying a Caterpillar 305e2. He had been working for a local contractor running a crew when “it dawned on me, ‘Why would I do this for someone else when I could be doing it for my own business?’” He acquires equipment that fits into day-to-day operations and focuses on the attachments, which allow him to broaden the company’s areas of work.
Education: Pennsylvania College of Technology, emphasis on heavy equipment operation.
Professional accomplishments: Paid off the Cat 305, and the company continues to grow at a comfortable pace.
Off the clock: Snowmobiling, mountain biking, and farming.
Favorite book: “History of Williamstown” because it’s the town he grew up and lives in.
Extracurricular: Sponsoring kids who race dirt bikes or cars.
