Central Contracting is a family business, and John has worked as a laborer, field supervisor, maintenance foreman, project manager, estimator, and now as vice president. He assists in equipment acquisition and has begun transitioning into GPS-integrated machines. The fleet currently has three but will incorporate more GPS as units are retired and replaced.
Education: Double B.S., West Virginia University, in mining and civil engineering
Professional accomplishments: Acquisition of GPS-integrated equipment has greatly increased grading efficiencies on projects.
Off the clock: Family activities include travelling, dirt biking, golf, and the beach.
Fun fact: “During Covid, the local driving range was one of the only places to go, so we ordered clubs off Amazon and discovered a new hobby.” John’s son now plays on the school golf team.
Extracurricular: Involved with the local art and science center, which has STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities for kids.
