As an excavation foreman, Josh manages the material delivery, daily operation, and maintenance of heavy equipment on the projects he manages. He has taken that expertise to the classroom and teaches in the heavy equipment operator fast track training program at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC). He also teaches in the high school and work-release programs for LFCC. “His commitment and active roll in LFCC heavy equipment operator course has brought much needed talent to the industry,” says Miriam R. Pearson, SW Rodgers VP of human resources.
Professional accomplishments: Began as a laborer, moved to motor grader operator, and now works as excavation foreman. Recipient of the Heavy Construction Contractors Association (HCCA) Award for recognition of contributions made to develop a successful Heavy Equipment Operator Program at LFCC.
Off the clock: Woodworking, fishing, spending time with family.
Extracurricular: Teaches heavy equipment safety, interpreting civil drawing, and simulator exercises for basic equipment operational controls.
Favorite movie: “Interstellar.” The characters never give up, overcoming many obstacles with hard work and perseverance.
