The VXT600 Vermeer vacuum excavator has a 12-cubic-yard elongated spoil tank design and 1,200-gallon freshwater tank capacity. Operating weight is 40,000 pounds, and the new design allows for even weight distribution when traveling.
Height with boom is 12.25 feet, enabling the excavator to maneuver under trees, power lines and bridges. The vacuum system is powered by a 6,400-cfm Helical tri-lobe Jurop blower.
The boom measures 23 feet, and can be stowed with the dig tube attached. The unit has an 8-inch-diameter dig hose, a vacuum level of 27 inHg (0.91 bar), and the water pump produces 10 gpm of flow at 3,000 psi. The boom dig hose can be stowed with the dig tube attached to minimize setup time between digs.
The spoil tank can be lifted to a 50-degree angle for quick offloading, and a tank vibrator is optional. It has a full-function wireless remote. There unit can be mounted on one of two chassis: a Kenworth T880 with a 510-horspower Paccar MX-13 engine and a 6-speed Allison 4500RDS transmission; or a Mack Granite truck with a 505-horsepower Mack MP8 engine with a 6-speed Allison 4500RDS transmission. Both chassis have two pusher axles and a GVWR of 86,000 pounds.
