The industry’s fleets are not telematics-enabled, with nine in 10 fleet managers saying that less than half of their fleet has a system in place. Several manufacturers offer telematics as standard equipment, but fleets have been slow to bring in the new machines because the recession has slowed fleet-replacement activities.
