Toro has added the TRX-250 and TRX-300 to its up TRX line of walk-behind trenchers, which feature Intelli-Trench technology. Dig depths of up to 48 inches can be attained with the use of three boom options: 24-, 36-, and 48-inch.
The TRX-250 has a 24.5-horsepower Toro engine, and the TRX-300 has a 26.5-horsepower Kohler EFI engine. Maximum forward speeds are 2.4 and 2.3 mph, respectively, and both hold 4.8 gallons of fuel.
Both trenchers measure 82.5x33.8 inches and are 46 inches tall with a ground clearance of 4.3 inches.
Intelli-Trench optimizes hydraulic flow to match digging conditions, according to the company, by automatically diverting flow from the traction motors, providing more power for the trencher head. The traction handle can be held in one place without requiring constant adjustment, which the company says reduces operator fatigue and optimizes performance. Other benefits include decreased track wear and constant rpm for efficient engine cooling.
The new trenchers also have a new hydraulic design that requires significantly fewer components than previous models, which simplifies maintenance.
Other features include differentiated traction controls, including independent traction control for the left track and the right track. The boom lift function has also been enhanced with a new hydraulic valve that allows the boom to move up and down smoothly.
