Mack MD series diesel and electric medium-duty trucks have longer cabs than previous models, as well as added safety features. Construction Equipment’s truck editor, Tom Berg, offers a side-by-side look on how electric power performs against diesel.
The cab is 4 inches longer, adding leg room and more seat recline. The seating now has lumbar support, and new steering wheel controls include cruise control, telephone, and audio functions.
Standard safety features include a new anti-lock braking system with automatic traction control, radio mute in reverse, and a park brake alarm.
To better allow for body installation, the trucks have pre-wired body building connections, relocated air dryer, and updated wheelbases to industry-standard cab-to-axle (CA) dimensions.
