Sterling will begin building all-wheel-drive Acterra trucks on its St. Thomas, Ont., assembly line instead of at a modification center. The factory-installed system claims low chassis and body height. It also has four-wheel automatic traction control (ATC), which uses the vehicle anti-lock brake system to sense wheel slip and automatically engages the front axle and/or rear axle differential locks. The system's two-speed transfer case can take up to 13,000 pounds of input torque, and allows the driver to engage the all-wheel drive feature at any time.
