Nikola Delivers 35 Trucks in 2023

The hydrogen-fueled trucks have a range of up to 500 miles.

Nikola sold 35 Hyla hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks (FCEVs) last year. It produced 42, three of which are in extended field tests with a fleet partner, according to the company.

Nikola’s FCEV features a range of up to 500 miles and an estimated fueling time as low as 20 minutes. The company believes its truck is among the longest ranges of all commercially available zero tailpipe emission Class 8 trucks, with versatile applications ranging from drayage and intermodal to metro-regional truckload and less-than-truckload to certain specialized hauling use cases.

“Our goal is to introduce a better, cleaner way to deliver goods to the North American market in a reliable package,” said Girsky. “Our FCEV customer pilot programs have shown strong results, with truck uptime at 98%."

Gray truck on a gray day, but a bright driving experience: 2017 Model 567 dump is ready to roll at Ohio Peterbilt. It has very low miles, the right specs for northeastern Ohio, and looks and performs like new. That makes it a compelling argument for buying “used.”
