SnowEx, a division of TrynEx International, introduces the new 7500 bulk spreader. Designed to be an economically priced V-box-style spreader, the 7500 offers all the advantages of polyethylene construction, but at the price of standard steel-constructed alternatives. Featuring a 1.4-cubic-yard capacity material hopper constructed entirely of polyethylene, the 7500 eliminates the corrosion concerns and constant maintenance commonly associated with standard steel V-box alternatives, and it is much lighter as well. Though the hopper features thick-walled construction, the unit is up to 40-percent lighter than similar capacity steel-built options, making it easier to install or remove.
Additionally, the 7500 features an exclusive poly enclosure around the spinner assembly, which provides maximum protection for the business end of the spreader while eliminating another potential corrosion concern. Intended for use in pickups (6-foot beds or larger), the 7500 features the same patented multi-angle hopper and inverted-“V” salt/sand baffle design found throughout the SnowEx line of V-box spreaders. Combined with an attached vibrator, the hopper allows for continuous flow of a multitude of material combinations, from 100-percent bulk salt to a 50/50 bulk salt to road sand mixture. A new longitudinal auger configuration also reduces potential binding and bridging of materials, further encouraging efficient flow throughout the hopper to the spinner.
As with all powered SnowEx spreaders, the 7500 is completely driven by a high-torque, commercial-duty electric drive system. This fully electric construction means there are no engines, sprockets, pulleys, belts or chains utilized anywhere in the spreader, which provides for low-maintenance, worry-free operation. Operation of the 7500 is simple with the unique independent spinner/auger controller. This cab-mounted controller allows for independent spinner speed and material flow adjustment, meaning the material usage and spread pattern can be matched to virtually any project demand. Spread width is infinitely variable up to 40 feet.
The 7500 is also built with a quick-connect hitch for fast and easy spinner assembly removal. Compared with competitive models that require the spreader assembly to be unbolted or for the entire spreader to be removed from the truck’s bed before being able to tow, the quick-connect hitch allows this conversion to take place in a matter of seconds. This feature effectively makes the service vehicle more useful, not having to dedicate it to one function, while also simplifying off-season equipment storage. Other standard features include a top screen and a non-combustible, automotive-style wiring harness.
