Volvo Construction Equipment will sell its ABG paver business to Ammann Group, including the production and technology center in Hameln, Germany. Production of Volvo CE compaction equipment in Hameln will be phased out over time, according to Volvo. The move will have no impact for production or distribution of asphalt and soil compaction in North America.
Ammann plans to use investment to expand its business and strengthen its product portfolio and distribution network.
Approximately 400 employees are impacted by the move, according to Volvo. Customers will continue to have access to the ABG Paving range, as well as aftermarket and other services, through the Ammann Group dealer network and some selected Volvo CE dealers.
