MDOT is replacing crushed stone with a cement and water mixture.

A section of highway in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is being used to test a new method that may extend the roadway’s lifespan.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is using a cement and water base instead of the traditional crushed stone, according to a CBS report, in order to enhance drainage.
