The 140.8-horsepower BOMAG BM 500/15-2 and BM 600/15-2 milling machines work to widths of 19.7 and 23.6 inches, respectively, and both have a minimum radius of 9.6 inches.
The cold planers’ drums are available in standard, fine, power, and trenching designs in widths from 3.15 to 23.6 inches. They each feature standard quick-exchange designs.
The machines have a reengineered vibration-isolated operator’s station. A new suspension seat with optional heating has a 45-degree slewing angle for visibility to the left cutting edge and front/rear of the machine. The main control console is fully adjustable to fit individual operator preferences, and simplified control grouping improves machine operating efficiency.
Machine leveling sensors are integrated into the side plate cylinders. A 7-inch full graphic color display offers intuitive operation and leveling control for mill set-up. The conveyor joystick control has been repositioned for easier access, and it integrates both lifting and lowering functions for faster operation.
Advancements to hydraulic system efficiency boost transport speed to 3.7 mph for three-wheel and 6.2 mph for four-wheel configurations. Maximum milling speed for four-wheel configurations is increased by more than 25 percent for both models, according to the company.
Four extra cutting tools are positioned at the left- and right-edge rings, and tools are arranged across the drum for uniform, low-vibration milling and smooth milled edges.
A new super-light conveyor design features an increased, 30-degree swiveling angle in both directions for more efficient truck loading. The 15.7-inch-wide conveyor discharges up to 111.2 cubic yards per hour and hydraulically folds for transport. All conveyor hoses and wiring are now positioned within the frame, reducing the chance of damage and improving machine uptime.
The water pump system can be adjusted for sprinkling, high-flow, and refill/suction.
