Volvo Converts L120H Loader to Electric

Feb. 21, 2023

Volvo Construction Equipment will field an electric version of its L120H wheel loader in Europe this year. The conversion will be handled by Volvo Group’s CE Engineering Solutions, which modifies Volvo machines to meet specific requirements, according to the group.

The conventional diesel-powered L120H wheel loader will continue to be available, and the L120H Electric Conversion will deliver the same performance with no emissions, according to Volvo CE. It will partner with Parker Hannifin on the conversions.

Powered by 240 kWh batteries, the L120H Electric Conversion provides a runtime of approximately five hours in most medium-duty applications, the company says, and will charge from 0-100 percent in just 1.5 to 2 hours.

The L120H Electric Conversion Volvo wheel loader has Comfort Drive Control, Load Assist with On-Board Weighing, and Collision Mitigation System as standard. Dedicated electromobility applications will allow the operator to check battery and charging status and to preheat the cab.
