Battery electric wheel loaders are popular in China, increasingly popular in Europe, but have yet to make a mark in North America, according to a report by Interact Analysis, “Electric Wheel Loaders Lead the Way.”
The number of BEV wheel loaders is heading north of 40,000 by 2030, the report projects. China leads the way, selling loaders into domestic markets of steel, coal, mining and cement, but demand is increasing in Europe.
The report suggests demand outside of China has been limited by a weak construction market, high interest rates, and a shortage of government incentives. Outside of China and Europe, there is lack of both awareness and product availability, it says.
