Komatsu will build a new facility in Mesa, Arizona, to expand its existing sales and service capacity in the area. The greenfield expansion will roughly triple the square footage dedicated to serving existing and new customers in the area, according to the company.

The company broke ground in April and plans to have the new facility completed in the spring of 2026. It will be approximately 215,000 square feet, an increase from the current 75,000-square-foot facility. The new facility is located close to the airport in southeast Mesa.

“As the copper industry continues to grow, Arizona is at the heart of that momentum,” said Tom Suess, VP of Komatsu North America Mining Stores, in a statement. “Expanding our presence in the Mesa area positions us to support our customers and partners in a region that’s leading the way in critical mineral production.”
