John Deere has added six excavators to its P Tier lineup as it continues to unfold its Performance Tiering Strategy. The six P Tier excavators are the 135, 210, 245, 250, 300 and 345 models.
The tiering strategy, introduced at Conexpo 2020, enables Deere to provide excavator and wheel loader options based on performance, price, and customer experience, according to the company. Watch Deere's promotional video below.

- P—enhanced features for performance
- X—feature technologies for higher levels of performance
To date, Deere has released 11 excavators and 15 wheel loaders under the tiering strategy.
Of the 18 wheel loaders Deere offers, including its 944K Hybrid, 14 have been converted into tier platforms: four are G Tier, nine are P Tier, and one is X Tier. Only one wheel loader, the 644, is available in all three tiers.

Among its 23 excavators, 11 have been released in tier versions. One is G Tier, the recently released Deere 200 G Tier, and 10 are P Tier. There are no X Tier excavators in the lineup currently.
