Deere has updated its 744, 824, and 844 wheel loaders according to its Performance Tier Strategy, labeling them P-tier.
The 744 P-tier, 824 P-tier, and 844 P-tier Deere wheel loaders have horsepower ratings of 316, 343, and 417, respectively. Operating weights are 54,920 pounds for the 744 P-tier; 58,334 to 61,952 pounds for the 824 P-tier; and 74,831 to 76,670 pounds for the 844 P-tier.
P-tier wheel loaders have high-capacity, heavy-duty axles with standard axle cooling filtration that increases durability in difficult conditions compared to previous models. The electrohydraulic (EH) controls have multifunction programmable buttons. A lockup torque converter is standard.
The 744 P-tier and 824 P-tier loaders have ground-level servicing, including a remote engine oil dipstick and improved electrical and hydraulic routing compared to the previous models.
A redesigned cab gives the operator more space, storage, and enhanced visibility during operation. Additional features include adjustable heated and ventilated seats, and an upgraded HVAC system.
Deere wheel loader technology
The 744 P-tier, 824 P-tier, and 844 P-tier wheel loader include optional technology such as an Advanced Vision System and an Advanced Obstacle Detection System. The new higher resolution digital cameras, dedicated display, and escalating audible alerts inform operators when obstacles are in the path of their machine. This feature also overlays a projected vehicle reversible path within the same dedicated monitor, enhancing the operator’s experience and control.
