The PC45MR-5 and PC55MR-5 excavators have 38-horsepower 4D88E-7 engines, which use up to 5 percent less fuel than their predecessors, says Komatsu. Working modes match engine speed to pump delivery, and auto-idle shutdown reduces fuel consumption.
The machines have tight tail swing radii, which along with swing booms and convex sliding doors that hug the machine, allow the excavators to work in tight spaces, according to the company.
