Genie GS Scissor Lifts

Nov. 20, 2024
Commonality of parts reduces the number of serviceable components.

The GS line of Genie scissor lifts has been redesigned. The curved linkage design reduces machine weight, allowing Genie to use right-sized components—including batteries, drive motors and other electrical components—which have a lower replacement part cost.

The chassis has been redesigned to mitigate stagnant water pooling at the top of the chassis, reducing the likelihood of rust. Reinforcement steel has been added to select areas of the extension decks to reduce damage during use.

Service part commonality and consistency of the component layout across the line has reduced the number of serviceable components, and 70% of the line’s components are common. Two battery part numbers are used across the line, for example.

The platform on the Genie MEWPs has been redesigned, including a new Smart Link platform controller that is 30% lighter than the previous version. The controller is modular, allowing for replacement of part without needing to replace the entire unit.
