Paving bridge widths of 200 feet is no longer impossible with the Bid-Well 4800 automatic roller paver from Terex Roadbuilding, the company says. Truss frame and gussets are manufactured with a proprietary high-strength, low-weight steel that does not add weight to the machine. When paving beyond 150 feet, the new frame allows for configurations exceeding 200 feet. Patented Rota-Vibe system delivers up to 5,000 vpm to reconsolidate the top 2 inches of concrete. Drive is supported by a dual-chain hanger system to prevent the chain from sagging and to reduce the load on the drive mechanism and sprockets. Estimated list price: $75,000 to $125,000, depending on configuration.
