Wacker Neuson Dual-Power Hydraulic Excavator

March 6, 2014

Wacker Neuson is introducing an innovative one-ton excavator, the 803 Dual Power, which is powered both by a 13-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine and an electrically powered hydraulic power pack, allowing operators to choose between diesel or electric drive to suit the application.

The new 803 Dual Power features a dedicated connection in the undercarriage to accommodate attaching the electro-hydraulic pump module. For convenience, connecting hoses are more than 30 feet long and securely clamped to a guide bar, allowing the machine to still rotate 360-degrees. Accessibility on the job is facilitated by the machine’s telescopic undercarriage, which varies in width from 27.5 to 34 inches.

The electro-hydraulic pump unit was specifically developed, says Wacker Neuson, to ensure that the 803 delivers the same consistent performance, whether powered by the engine or the hydraulic power pack. When connected to the electro-hydraulic pump, says Wacker Neuson, the 803 runs emissions-free. The dimensions of the hydraulic power pack were optimized for the 803, says the company, and power unit can be lifted and transported on the machine’s dozer blade, or can be moved via the jobsite-ready wheels or lift hook.
