Construction Equipment senior editor Frank Raczon talked to John Deere’s Evan Olson, precision construction specialist, about how he works with dealers and customers to help them understand machine-control technology and its applications.
Using demos in the field, Olson looks to help drive technology’s adaptation and improve managers’ bottom lines. Deere dealers around the country have him on speed dial for his expertise.
Faster, more accurate job completion, as well as more competitive bids, are among the goals for contractors. Deere’s SmartGrade technology for its excavators is only one example of the factory-installed machine-control technology creating efficiencies in today’s equipment. Excavators, dozers, and motor graders are the machine categories most often featuring this type of technology.
