Utility Firm Owner Indicted on Perjury in Worker Deaths

Two employees of Atlantic Coast Utilities were killed earlier this year when a dump truck struck them, then pushed them into a trench.

According to the NBC affiliate in Boston, the company’s owner and one other employee have been charged with perjury, having allegedly lied on affidavits of workplace safety submitted to the City of Boston.

The indictments allege that the two said the company had no prior Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations. In fact, according to the indictments, it did.
