Elon Musk delivered Tesla’s first Cybertruck pickup trucks to customers in a live event broadcast on X. (Watch the full event at the bottom of this article.) The stainless-steel clad pickup truck will retail for $60,990 with a range of 340 miles and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds.
The delivery of Cybertruck has been long anticipated since Tesla announced it in 2019, and two other versions are still to come. The all-wheel drive models that were delivered were projected to cost $49,900 with a range of 300 miles and a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. The delivery price is 22% higher than suggested in 2019.
A rear-wheel drive version is expected in 2025, with a range of 250 miles and towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The all-wheel-drive Cyberbeast will have a range of 320 miles and tow up to 11,000 pounds.
The Verge posted a condensed version of the event.
In the live event, Musk noted the infamous introduction event featuring a steel ball cracking the supposedly unbreakable windows by recreating the scene with a baseball. The window did not crack, and he suggested even a professional pitcher would fail. But it was widely noted that the two demonstrations were widely different in terms of impact force.

The Cybertruck body is made with a stainless steel alloy developed by Tesla. Musk said the body has more torsional stiffness than a sports car. And it’s bulletproof.
The truck’s low center of gravity prevents rollovers, Musk said. A video showed the truck staying upright during a 16-mph rollover test. Other videos showed front impact and side impact tests.
The truck has locking differentials and four-wheel steering. Steer-by-wire dynamically adjusts how much the wheels turn according to the truck’s speed.
