Trimble Updates Earthworks, Siteworks

April 8, 2019

Trimble has released new versions of its Earthworks and Siteworks systems.

Earthworks Grade Control Platform 1.9 includes fully automatic guidance for excavator tiltrotator attachments and allows for millimeter-accurate fine grading with a motor grader through the use of the company’s universal total stations.

By automating a tiltrotator, the company says, less experienced operators can use the attachment and more experienced operators can use it more efficiently. The control works with products from Engcon, Rototilt, and Steelwrist. Earthworks controls the boom and bucket, as well as the tilt angle of the attachment.

Siteworks Software version 1.1 has full GNSS tilt compensation functionality in standing, walking, and vehicle modes, giving site surveyors the capability to capture accurate points without levelling the pole.

Used with a Trimble SPS986 GNSS Smart Antenna, Siteworks allows for faster measurements and more efficient stakeouts, the company says.
