The Travis Mule is a horizontal-discharge asphalt trailer with a patented Wave body design, dual-walled with smooth sides. The hydraulic V-Floor walking-floor system by Keith Mfg., with reciprocating floor slats, discharges cargo without lifting the body at a rate controllable at the back of the trailer. Travis says the 28-foot-long, four-axle trailer — including tarp and two Travis T-lite auxiliary liftable air suspensions — weighs just 10,998 pounds, putting a 27-ton payload in a small package. The hollow walls are filled with insulation to retain hot-mix heat.
