Worker killed when excavator tips in Florida

Excavator fell off a debris pile.

An excavator tipped off a pile of debris and landed on a nearby truck, killing a construction worker in Delray, Florida. The worker had been operating a grapple loading debris into a parked dump truck, according to news reports.

The Case excavator was removing the debris from a demolished house when it tipped over as it appeared to be backing off the pile. A home surveillance camera recorded the accident, which was partially broadcast by WPTV to just before the worker was hit.. According to WPTV, the worker was inside the truck when the accident happened.
