New Trimble GPS Receivers Provide the Widest Selection of Positioning Equipment
Trimble now offers heavy and highway contractors the widest selection of location and precise GPS solutions on the market with the introduction of seven new GPS Receivers and Smart GPS Antennas. The new collection allows customers the ability to upgrade as work tasks demand, as new signals are activated or as finances become available. All seven new Trimble GPS receivers utilize Trimble's RTK Engine, which is designed for faster initialization and less downtime on the job site. The receivers track and use the L2C GPS signals as a standard configuration and some models can be upgraded to include GLONASS and L5 signals to facilitate performance on jobsites with obstructed visibility. At the same time, the new line of construction GPS receivers comply with European Union requirements for the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS) initiative.
Trimble SPS551, SPS551H, SPS651, SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers
The Trimble SPS551 and SPS551H Modular Receivers are location GPS receivers that provide decimeter-level positioning for land and marine construction applications. The Trimble SPS551H GPS Receiver is an add-on heading receiver for use in marine applications requiring both position and heading of the vessel, such as dredging, placement of pilings, and harbor construction. The Trimble SPS651 Modular GPS Receiver is designed for use on marine vessels or as part of the new Trimble Site Supervisor System. With typical 10cm (location) horizontal accuracy and 2cm (precise) vertical accuracy, the new SPS651 responds to construction application requirements for location GPS horizontal positioning with precise vertical accuracy. The Trimble SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers are ideal for mobile, semi-permanent and permanent base station setups on construction sites as well as for vehicle, vessel or pole-mounted rover applications. By integrating the radio and GPS receiver in a single housing, the valuable components of a contractor's GPS fleet can be protected from the elements and theft by securing them inside a site trailer, vehicle or carrying case, while only the antennas are left outside. Antennas can be mounted high and away from obstructions to allow a clearer, less noisy GPS signal, as well as maximizing radio coverage. The Trimble SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers offer a range of GPS positioning techniques delivering position accuracies from centimeters to sub-meter. The new receivers further simplify GPS technology for use in construction by adding Autobase, a feature that allows the user set up the receiver as a base station with a single button push.
Trimble SPS781 and SPS881 Smart GPS Antennas
The Trimble SPS781 and SPS881 Smart GPS Antennas are ideal for fast setup and take down. By integrating the GPS receiver, radio, and GPS antenna in one housing, setup time is drastically reduced, making this GPS positioning product ideal for all sites, including small- to medium-size construction sites as a base station as well as for all site rover applications where mobility is critical.
The construction business of Trimble is focused on developing technology and solutions for earthmoving, site preparation, and general, interior and underground construction contractors. For each phase of the construction cycle—designing, grading, site checking, building and asset management—Trimble offers a broad portfolio of integrated construction positioning systems designed to improve productivity.
