Rivian Recalls Trucks for Airbags

Rivian is recalling 502 of its 2022 R1T electric pickup trucks with problems with its passenger side airbags. The company says it total production run is about 5,000 trucks as of May 9, 2022.

The airbags have a defect that may not deactivate the airbag when a child seat is used.

The recall affects trucks manufactured between September 21, 2021, through April 12, 2022.

Ford sells more Rivian stock

Ford Motor Co. sold another 7 million shares of Rivian stock last week, following an earlier divestiture of 8 million shares. Both sales, according to published reports, were at about $27 per share.

Ford still owns about 10 percent of Rivian, holding about 87 million shares.
