Comparable to a stationary Walkie-Talkie, the Wireless 2-Way Radio Outpost Callbox uses batteries that do not require recharging. Because it has no electrical hardwire or telephone cables, the Callbox can be installed and moved by anyone. The unit remains off until the user initiates a call by pushing the hold-to-talk button. Once the conversation has ended, the Callbox automatically shuts off to conserve the batteries. It can be programmed and is compatible with most existing VHF or UHF business band radio equipment. The heavy-duty, tamper-resistant XT Callbox is used in unsecured areas and lists at $908. The Basic Callbox can be used anywhere on secured jobsite locations and lists at $524.
