Wacker Neuson’s new RD 27-100 and RD 27-120 double-drum ride-on rollers have respective operating weights of 5,470 and 5,950 pounds and drum widths of 39.4 and 47.2 inches. Using a 37.5-horsepower Kubota diesel, both models have high/low centrifugal-force settings and can be operated with single- or double-drum vibration, allowing efficient compaction of base and finish asphalt lifts and granular sub-base materials, says Wacker Neuson. Compaction force is adjusted hydraulically, allowing the engine to operate at a constant speed for peak horsepower in either setting. A patented control lever handles all common machine functions, and a new tapered front frame is designed to enhance sight lines for aligning the drum.
