The Cat RM400 reclaimer/stabilizer has 19 percent more power than the predecessor RM300, with a Cat C9.3 engine delivering 417 horsepower. The 51,809-pound rotary mixer can cut to 8 feet wide for both full-depth reclamation and soil stabilization applications.
Operating length is 31.4 feet, which is 17 inches shorter than the previous model and provides more maneuverability and visibility. The cab slides to provide views to the tire edges and rotor cut lines, and standard front and rear-facing cameras display in the cab.
The machine has three rotor speeds, and an electronic controller keeps the rotor at proper depth and the machine at consistent speed. Rotor options include a universal rotor equipped with 200 point-attack carbide-tipped tools. A soil rotor can be used to blend additives in stabilization applications and has 238 tools. A combination rotor, with 114 tools, can be used for stabilizing cohesive materials or for light asphalt reclamation. The space rotor is for mixing soils and has 58 bolt-on spade tools.
