Case Construction Equipment has introduced its first pneumatic-tire compactor, the PT240, an eight-wheeled machine designed for rolling hot-mix-asphalt surface treatments, such as chip-and-seal, as well as soil-stabilization applications. The PT240 has a compaction width of 78 inches and a fully ballasted operating weight of 52,910 pounds. With a turbocharged engine rated at 99 horsepower, the PT240 can operate on grades up to 25 degrees and on materials with high rolling resistance.
