Wirtgen W 220 XFi Milling Machine
The W 200 XFi Wirtgen milling machine has been added to the company’s lineup of Xtended F Series. Standard working width is 7 feet 3 inches, but the multiple cutting system allows for switching drums to accommodate widths up to 12 feet 6 inches.
The Deere JD18L engine provides up to 840 horsepower at 1,500 rpm and provides high torque under all load conditions for the cold planer. The dual shift transmission provides high torque at low rpm for optimal milling performance, according to the company, meaning that even at low engine speeds, high milling drum rotation speeds are possible.
Mill Assist machine control increases milling performance while simultaneously reducing diesel and water consumption as well as pick wear. The system controls engine speed automatically according to the needs of the operator. At lower speeds, fuel consumption, noise emission, and pick wear can be reduced significantly. The upper speed range makes optimum milling patterns possible at higher area performance rates.
Three operating strategies—ECO, performance-optimized, or milling pattern quality—enables the operator to pre-define the required milling pattern quality incrementally from coarse to very fine at the press of a button.
