The Terex Bid-Well 2418 work-bridge provides a 24-inch-wide walkway over its 18-inch-deep truss frame, allowing crew members to cross freshly placed concrete surfaces to perform required tasks behind the paver. Boom-style, all-welded construction provides a stable frame at extended widths, says the manufacturer, and the work-bridge’s snap-together design eliminates nut-and-bolt connections. Interlocking bottom-truss castings with pin-type top sections facilitate fast assembly at the jobsite.
The 2418 work-bridge’s frame is designed to fit between the barrier-wall steel on bridge decks, placing workers low to the concrete surface for quicker, easier hand finishing. Multiple leg and wheel options are available, and the standard bolt-together, fixed-height leg offers economical operation in any application, says Terex Bid-Well. An optional screw-jack leg design enables height to be quickly raised and lowered to pass over obstructions.
When working on bridges, the 2418 can be equipped with either concave wheels for riding on screed pipe, and when working on roadways, pneumatic tires are available. An optional power drive unit for the 2418 provides the operator with switch control of forward and reverse movement. Truss-insert segments (3-, 6- and 12-foot lengths) provide a variety of operating widths, up to a maximum of 105 feet .
