The Cedarapids CR552 rubber-tired asphalt paver has been upgraded to Tier 4-Final with a 260-horsepower Cummins engine. Cooling air is drawn from above the hood, rather than at ground level, for cleaner air quality. It exits primarily through the front grill, resulting in a pressurized engine compartment that reduces debris infiltration.
The machine can pave to 30 feet wide at depths reaching 12 inches. The hydraulically extendible Stretch 20 screed paves from 10 to 20 feet.
The paver has a heavy-duty rear drive motor for “track-like” traction, according to the company. Hopper capacities up to 27 tons allow paving rates more than 800 tph.
The operator’s platform offers better line of sight to the paver’s sides. Both seats pivot beyond the side for direct visibility to the tires, and the console pivots to line up with the seat. The generator powering electric screeds has been moved, lowering sound levels to the operator.
Three complimentary years of BOMAG Telematic come standard. The Super Paver Wear Guarantee covers slat drive chains for 3 years or 3,000 hours, and the floor liners offer a 5-year/5,000-hour warranty. The slat bars have a 10-year/10,000-hour guarantee.
