The Minnich Hornet utility drill is designed for drilling gas leak detection and extraction holes, and features a patent-pending frame and feed cylinder to absorb drill vibrations.
Lightweight, compact, and portable, The Hornet can drill through a variety of materials including concrete, asphalt, brick, and dirt. It also has spring-loaded squeeze grip controls for drilling, and a frame that feeds the drill in and out of the hole, allowing the operator to stand in an upright position. Additionally, because of the unit’s use of pneumatic power, the Hornet eliminates the hazardous combination of electricity and natural gas on the job site.
Available in three different models, the Hornet line accommodates drill bit sizes from 24 inches to 32 inches in standard bit sizes (STD), and Tamco seize-free bits (SF) from 22 inches to 40 inches. Across the three models, the Hornet is capable of drilling depths ranging from 18 inches to 36 inches. Each Hornet unit comes equipped with a 15-pound hammer, which produces a 5/8-inch to 1-inch hole diameter, or a 30-pound hammer, which produces a 5/8-inch to 1-5/8-inch hole diameter. All models require 90 standard cubic feet per minute.
