Kubota skid steers have been added to the product lineup with the SSV Series. The first two models, SSV65 and SSV75, are vertical-lift units with 64 and 74 gross horsepower, respectively. Rated operating capacities are 1,950 pounds for the SSV65 and 2,690 pounds for the SSV75. Bucket breakout force is 4,839 and 5,884 pounds, respectively. Kubota diesels, certified at Tier 4-Final, power the machines. The front-entry door slides up, which allows it to be opens regardless of loader position. The cabin is pressurized and has a side light for visibility and night operation. The skid steers have hand-and-foot controls, with pilot-control models to be introduced in 2016, the company says. The SSV65 and SSV75 will be available in June 2015.
Paul Manger, construction equipment product marketing director for Kubota, talked to Construction Equipment about the company’s strategy.
