New TK-280/380 VHF/UHF portable radios are multi-mode hand-held models capable of operation in conventional, trunking, wide, or narrow bands. In conventional mode, the radios have 250-channel capacity that allows for auxiliary or special-use channels and conventional repeater and simplex operations with priority channel scanning. In trunked mode, they offer 600-channel capacity, dynamically allocating 32 system and 250 group memory capacity and operate on conventional or LTR trunking systems. Bright, 12-character dot matrix LCD display permits use in varied light conditions. The radios meet strict U.S. military specifications for performance in wet conditions.
