Peoria Bridge Delayed by Supplies, Covid

The new bridge over the Illinois River in Peoria, Illinois, will be completed about a year behind schedule, according to local reports, due to coronavirus delays, supply shortages, and weather.

The Peoria Journal Star report says the project has already lasted four years, which involved building a new three-lane bridge for eastbound U.S. Route 150. Despite the delays, officials say the $167 million project remains on budget, and should be opened for traffic in the spring of 2024.
