The TMAX 30K Aluminum service body combines the crane-carrying Stellar TorqIsolator torsion box with an aluminum service body. The new body is designed for users needing a service crane that lifts 5,000 pounds or less. The TMAX 30K Aluminum body weighs 1,300 pounds less than its heavy-duty-steel counterpart, the TMAX 1, allowing for expanded payloads. The TMAX 30K Aluminum is designed to accept up to and including a 30,000 lb.-ft. rated service crane.
The Stellar TorqIsolator torsion box understructure and crane compartment is designed to isolate crane lifting forces in the stabilizers and chassis frame, not in the storage compartments. The body side compartments are constructed of 1/8-inch high-strength aluminum floors and walls, with doublepanel aluminum doors featuring a bonded internal channel for greater strength.
The TMAX 30K Aluminum body also features the industry’s first aluminum extrusion compartment top, says Stellar. The extruded top is formed of high-strength aluminum and features two built-in accessory mounting rails that eliminate the need to drill holes in the compartment tops to mount equipment, facilitating mounting/relocating accessories and eliminating the prospect of water leaks. The extruded top also incorporates wire harness channels inside the compartments to facilitate installation.
The TMAX 30K Aluminum continues to use stainless-steel billet-style hinges, threepoint stainless-steel compression latches, and double spring-over-center door closures. Stellar bodies are painted with a twopart polyurethane enamel. Stellar offers a complete line of turnkey packages that include body, crane, steel/aluminum drawer systems, truckmounted air compressors, and lube skids.
