The EW60E is a compact wheel-mounted excavator designed for working in a range of applications, says Volvo, and with the added benefit of being able to travel without the need for a truck and trailer The EW60E uses a 60.6-horsepower Volvo D2 6H Tier 4-Final engine that has 12 percent more horsepower than the engine in the predecessor model and, according to Volvo, delivers a 10-percent improvement in fuel efficiency, due to a smaller-displacement engine with a turbocharger.
The standard offset boom allows the operator to adjust the machine to applications that require working in confined areas, says the company, while providing god sight lines to the bucket. The new model features four-wheel drive and a top speed of 18.6 mph. The front axle can be hydraulically locked for additional stability on uneven terrain, says Volvo, and the dozer blade at the rear of the machine provides additional stability.
Standard equipment for the EW60E includes the Volvo CareTrack telematics system and the MATRIS (Machine Tracking Information System) software. Together, the technologies allow the fleet manager to remotely monitor a wide range of machine diagnostics in real time, says Volvo. The EW60E can be equipped with a wide range of attachments, including hydraulic breakers, says Volvo, using either a mechanical or hydraulic quick coupler.
