John Deere Power Systems has revealed its new 13.6-liter engine, which the company calls the first of its next-generation engines, designed to meet the needs of both its internal applications and those global equipment manufacturers. The new engine has a maximum variable-speed power rating of 684 horsepower and employs the same emissions-control technologies of other of the company’s engines, including full-authority electronic controls, cooled exhaust gas recirculation, and high-pressure common-rail fuel system. The new engine is scheduled for production in 2020.
