LiuGong has introduced an articulating-frame wheel loader with vertical-lift loader arms that incorporate mechanical self-leveling Z-bar bucket linkage. Thevertical-lift wheel loader, says the company, represents truly new technology and marks an important milestone for LiuGong. Vertical lift improves the wheel loader’s primary functions, says LiuGong, by providing a heavier tipping load, higher lift height, and extended reach, compared with conventional wheel loaders of the same power and weight. Fuel costs also are reduced, says the company, because the reduced operating weight of the vertical-lift machine allows more material to be moved per horsepower, again compared with a conventional radial-lift machine.
“This technology will create a new class of the machines,” saysEdward Wagner, director of LiuGong new technology and test—and inventor and lead engineer of the vertical-lift technology. “Our vertical-lift will be the first ever for an articulating-frame loader. The vertical lift loader will provide performance and value that no radial arm wheel loader can match. This technology is universally applicable, and it is especially advantageous for stockpiling and truck-loading applications.”
