Weighing just over 100 pounds, the BOMAG BVP10/30 compactor features a balanced lifting point to facilitate loading and unloading. The new walk-behind compactor uses an 11.8x 20-inch plate and generates 2,250 pounds of centrifugal force at working speeds to 82 feet/minute. Equipping the plate with an optional “vulcolan” mat, the BVP 10/30 is suitable for setting paving stones, says the company.
The new vibratory plate rubber-buffer mounting the 2.8-horsepower Honda gas engine to minimize engine vibration. A low-oil alert automatically stops the engine. The BVP 10/30 features a maintenance-free exciter to reduce service time, and the machine’s V-belt guard fully encloses the belt to protect the operator and to prevent belt damage from debris, says BOMAG. A hinged handle features rubber mounts to minimize vibration transmitted back to the operator’s hands and arms. Lifting handles facilitate loading and unloading from the transport vehicle.
