The 3D-MCMAX dozer machine control system is driven by dual Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), and is designed for rough- or fine-grade applications, slope conditions, and in restricted-sight environments, the company says. The company says IMUs compute measurements 5 to 10 times faster than GNSS systems without the use of in-cylinder sensors.
The IMUs eliminate the need for mast and cables, and are permanently affixed to the dozer blade and in the cab. The system uses Topcon 3D-MC2 technology with the dual IMU sensors that locates the GNSS technology inside the cab instead of out on the harsh environment of the blade.
3D-MCMAX is available for select Caterpillar, John Deere, and Komatsu dozers.
