Editor's note: This has been updated to the TL8R2. See below for more details.
Replacing the TL230 Series 2, the Takeuchi TL8 CTL features a radial-lift loader design, weighs approximately 8,345 pounds, and has a tip load of 6,020 pounds. The TL8 compact track loader is powered by a 74.3-horsepower turbocharged Kubota engine that meets Tier 4-Final emissions standards with a high-pressure common rail injection system, DOC, and DPF. Double reduction planetary drives provide traction forces of over 9,100 pounds.
The Takeuchi TL8 compact track loader has bucket breakout forces exceeding 6,800 pounds and loader lift arm forces of over 6,700 pounds. For reduced flotation, a 15.7-inch track is now standard and helps to reduce the ground pressure to 4.4 psi. Rated operating capacity has been increased by over 13 percent on the TL8 to 2,105 pounds, and can be boosted by over 10 percent by adding optional rear counterweights.

Updated to Takeuchi TL8R2
Takeuchi TL8R2 compact track loader has an operating weight of 9,182 pounds with a tipping load of 6,041 pounds.
The radial-lift CTL has a 74.3-horsepower diesel engine with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF).
Creep mode is standard on models equipped with high-flow auxiliary hydraulics, which enables operators to precisely match the forward speed of the CTL to an attachment.
The cab features a 5.7-inch multi-informational color display with a rearview camera and a sealed rocker switch bank. Low-effort pilot controls and proportional auxiliary switches are standard. A pressurized cab is available as an option.
