Motional will remove the human drivers from five taxis in Las Vegas, making the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric automobiles fully autonomous, according to the Las Vegas Sun. (Read more.)
The five are operated by Motional, a joint venture between Hyundai and Aptiv. The company has been operating a fleet of autonomous taxis—with backup drivers—for several years. The move will take place next year.
